Which Toy Is Trending Right Now? A Baby Toy Guide

We can’t name one toy as the definitive trend right now, but if you’re looking for an alternative to a fleeting craze, a wooden baby toy set is an option worth considering. Our Montessori Wooden Baby Toy Set play guide introduces our featured set and can help you explore it as a choice for your baby.

Check the product’s listed specifications when evaluating which toy is trending right now.

The most talked-about toy may not be the right fit for every child, so start with your baby’s age, stage of development, and current interests rather than choosing solely because a toy is popular. For a baby who is beginning to reach and grasp, look for toys suited to that stage; for an older child, consider whether the intended play is engaging without being frustrating.

Check the product’s listed specifications when evaluating choose for your baby, not just the trend.

Wooden toys offer a different feel from soft fabric or plastic toys, so you can think about which materials and shapes your baby is comfortable handling and how you’ll use the toy during supervised play. Before giving any toy to a baby, follow its age guidance and inspect it for loose parts, sharp edges, splinters, or damage; keep small parts that could pose a choking hazard out of reach.

Consider when and where you’ll use a toy: a simple set may suit playtime at home, while a toy intended for travel needs to be easy for you to carry and supervise away from home. Follow the care instructions for the specific toy, clean it as directed, and inspect it regularly so you can set aside any piece that becomes damaged or unsafe.
